Earthwork

Earthwork

Earthwork is all about preparing your soil for a construction project. Earthwork goes beyond just excavation. From grading, over-excavation, rough grading, value engineering, soil stabilization, and clearing to landscaping and erosion control, every step is crucial to the stability and durability of asphalt and concrete construction, installation and maintenance.

Components of construction earthwork include:

Grading

Grading involves modifying the ground surface topography of new construction through grading. All processes including excavation, hauling, and laying of soil and rock material to building pads, roads, walkways, and the like are an integral part of asphalt paving.

Over-excavation
Over-excavation or excavation is the process of removing earth to allow below-ground structures to be constructed. This excavation may be necessary if ground conditions do not have the required stability or load-bearing capacity.
Mass/Rough Grading
Mass, or rough, grading generally means smoothing out any piles of dirt, filling holes, hauling debris, and establishing grade to fall away from buildings.
Value Engineering
Value engineering, when applied to the construction process, has an enormous benefit for developers. This type of engineering promotes the substitution of materials and methods with less expensive alternatives, without sacrificing quality.

Soil Stabilization

Soil Stabilization goes beyond just getting the proper blend and mix while paving roads, walkways, driveways, or paths. There’s a lot of science that goes into the effective soil stabilization process. Methods include lime stabilization and soil cement stabilization

Dust Control & SWPP (stormwater pollution prevention)

The law requires that any construction site complies with stormwater discharge and dust control requirements. We make it our business to ensure the site we are working on meets both state and federal pollution prevention standards and requirements.

Landscaping and Hydro-seed service

After all asphalt and concrete work has been completed, you are typically left with bare dirt areas surrounding the project. We can assist you with landscaping and hydro-seed services; hydroseeding uses a hose to spray a unique mixture onto the area you want to plant grass.

Erosion control

During construction, sediment can shift. Erosion control using man-made structures and land management techniques can reduce or prevent the movement of this sediment.

Clearing

During construction, sediment can shift. Erosion control using man-made structures and land management techniques can reduce or prevent the movement of this sediment.

Earthmoving

We have the earth moving machinery tools you need to move rock, gravel, sand, and soil that a construction job could require.

Utility piping

Proper installation, maintenance, and management of utility pipes ensure safety, compliance, and efficient service delivery.
